Disabled Parking Placard

Out of state and country disabled placards are considered valid for parking in designated disabled blue zones. In California your placard also allows you to park at a metered parking space without having to pay. Hang the placard from your rearview mirror as this is where they look for it. If you are traveling from another country or state and don't have a placard you can request a temporary placard by writing to: DMV, 2415 1st St, Sacramento CA 95818. They will send you an application that must be signed by a U.S. physician. When you arrive, take the application plus $6 to any Department of Motor Vehicles office and they will issue you a temporary placard good for 90 days.
